With the recent passing of two Hollywood icons that were both too young, it got me thinking.
Do we live our life to the fullest?
Or do we take this life for granted?
When was the last time that you stopped and gave thanks for all that you have in your life?
It’s easy to feel grateful when things are going well. It’s not so easy when times are tough. However, we have many reasons to be thankful. We have a home, a bed, food for our families, our health, clean water and modern conveniences. I read that having an attitude of gratitude is expressing thankfulness and appreciation for all aspects of our life whether they be big or small.
Focus on what you have rather than what you don’t have. Notice simple pleasures and acknowledge everything that you receive.
Showing gratitude for the things in our lives will result in us wanting less.
My son, as is not surprising for a 7 year old, has a hard time remembering to be grateful for all the things in his life. I remind him that he has two homes, wants for nothing, always has food and has two loving parents.
And I guess me repeating this over and over finally got through to him because the other night while we were taking a walk he says “I’m so lucky! I have two homes and food!”

There are so many fun ways to spend time with your children.
Spending time with your children can help you bond with them and it can also release stress. You can look online for things specifically in your area but these are a few things that I do.
Play games or put together puzzles-
It’s fun to break out the old games. Chutes and Ladders or Candyland for the young kids. Sorry, Life or Uno for the older kids. My kids and I love playing Sorry and yelling Sorry to each other when we send one of the other’s game pieces back home.
Puzzles provide hours of fun. We put 3 puzzles together when we were home riding out a hurricane recently. We felt such an accomplishment as we finished each one.
I don’t know about you but I like finding natural ways to promote health and healing. I especially like finding natural ways to boost my mood. The foods that we eat can greatly affect our bodies and how they function.
