There are so many fun ways to spend time with your children.
Spending time with your children can help you bond with them and it can also release stress. You can look online for things specifically in your area but these are a few things that I do.
Play games or put together puzzles-
It’s fun to break out the old games. Chutes and Ladders or Candyland for the young kids. Sorry, Life or Uno for the older kids. My kids and I love playing Sorry and yelling Sorry to each other when we send one of the other’s game pieces back home.
Puzzles provide hours of fun. We put 3 puzzles together when we were home riding out a hurricane recently. We felt such an accomplishment as we finished each one.
We like to curl up on the couch with our popcorn and candy and watch movies. If you want to do it cheaply you can get a Netflix membership /https://www.netflix.com/. There are several different plans that you can sign up for by going to their web site.
Target has a 4 pack movie deal. You can get 4 movies for as low as $8.99.
I so enjoy ending the day with lying in bed with my kids and reading books. It is so relaxing. My daughter and I are currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
My son and I read Highlights magazine and all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. It’s so funny to read all the different, crazy situations Greg Heffley gets himself into.
One of my favorite things to do with my kids is to ride bikes. We hook up the dog to my bike and off we go. The dog tries to be in front and the kids want to out run the dog. The dog and the kids get exercise. So it’s a win-win.
Plant flowers or a garden-
My kids love to get plants from the store and repot them. They especially like planting seeds and watch them grow into plants. We recently planted sunflower seeds and it was really cool watching them grow from seeds to a beautiful large flower. Every day we would go outside to see what kind of progress they had made overnight. Our next project is to grow a little garden. It will be neat to be able to go outside to pick our own food.
Go on a field trip-
You can get an annual pass to an amusement park. My kids and I live close enough to Busch Gardens that we get a pay for a day pass and go for the rest of the year for free. We only have to pay for parking when we go.
Groupon http://www.groupon.com is always running specials for “things to do” and then sometimes Groupon will offer an additional discount. We found a great deal at a trampoline arena. That was a lot of fun for everyone and great exercise. We all slept great that night.
Grab your kids and have fun making new memories!
Let me know what fun things you do with your kids or even niece, nephew or grandchildren.
